Who likes a sales person

where I talk about and to the person who is in sales or marketing, who is looking to the web to work.
Well the question of the day is who likes a sales person. and I would have to say no one. We do not like the sales person and I don't understand that, and then again I do understand that. Let me explain. it is all in the concept.
 We all are in sales in one form or another. It is all in how you perceive it. If you are looking for a job it is your duty to sale yourself, that is sales! If you recommend a product or a service you are selling your knowledge and your trust to your friend about the product or services. That is sales. Sales is what the world is all about, it is the exchange of something of value for something else of value. In a world that does business with one another it is all sales. I do think the way in which a sales person comes to you is the key. 
If you don't trust the person who is telling you about the thing then you will think of that person as the sleazily, they are trying to get my money trying to make me do something that I don't want to do. The other key factor of the sales person is that in the old days of sales the sales person knew more than the customer. So if they were just in it to get your money they could  because of their knowledge of the product or service.   However now days because of the net everyone has access to information. The function of the sales person has changed.He /She does not have all the information the customer now  is more on equal terms with information and knowledge. 

The new word that makes the sales person more acceptable is Marketer.
 I think marketing is a gentle, compassionate and higher form of sales  No longer should or can you sale anything to another person they can buy it from any place or person, they even have information on the item of interest. The key word or concept is to help people and to understand the needs of the person. The marketer or marketing helps with the problem identification and showing something in a new way or light and to find purpose for it with in the perspective of  the customer.  It is still sales but, you as the sales person or now the marketer must provide value, in away that is relaxed not pushy.  You must understand the needs of the customer even if they themselves don't know what their own needs are. Sometimes it is better to turn someone away if the need is not with your product or service. That is better business anyway. 
You build trust, and your value as a person is higher due to the trust that you did not just try and sale something just to have a sale. You are looking out for your customer best interest. It is though persuasion that you get prospects, and you let the product or service sale itself. You build a relationship based on trust and understanding and your knowledge of the item and the customer. it is also building a relationship with the prospect or client and then you have a customer and friend. 

 Sure it is still sales but we all do that in all forms and parts of our life. It is being more human and caring that makes the difference between a sales person and a marketer. The role of the Marketing is one that is by word of mouth and by your network of family and friends and associates and their connections.  The terms use for the above are   advertising,(persuasion) building relationships, branding(trust) and viral marketing(friends of friends,family and connections networks or circles) which is the spreading of information by others to another and so on.

So with this in mind the marketer, should only endorse items and services that he or she believes in. How can you truly persuade another if you yourself do not believe. You have no motivation to be honest caring or helpful and these are the key or main points that make you who you are and the best that you can be for yourself and the people around you and not just a sales person.

 Let me say this to you as well. This post was more about the concept of the sales person and the marketer and not on the systems of marketing and sales. As always my desire is to enlighten with concepts and motivation than to present systems. 
A sample of systems or skills of sales and marketing would be the sales funnels, identifying and targeting objectives, information gathering techniques, squeeze pages, presentation, stages in the sales process,closing and so on. 
Platforms would be, blogs, websites, newsletter, webinars,social media, slide presentations, video, meetings,direct mail,forums and so on. Smile.
